Goal Setting

Today's team call covered the topic of goal setting. To assure success in anything you do, you must set goals. Set your long term goal for where you want to be with your business and then break it down in to successively shorter term goals. For example, set a 1-year goal, 6-month goal, 3-month goal, and 1-month goal for yourself. In terms of your Vemma business, your goal may be to go Platinum in 1-year. To get there, you should aim to be a Diamond leader in 6-months. Likewise, you should aim to go Gold in 3-months. As you can see, by splitting your goal up to smaller, measurable, & achievable chunks, it becomes a lot more manageable. Your goals should be SMART; that is: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.

To take it to an even more actionable level, set weekly and daily goals for yourself. You may have a goal to talk to 20 people per week and therefore 4 people per day if you work 5 days a week at Vemma. Look at where you are right now and figure out the actions that are necessary for you to reach & exceed your goals. Take advantage of your upline and use the tools that are available to you like the 18-minute overview calls, Vemma Scene movie, etc. to tell the story for you. Here's wishing you breakthrough results!

Using Fundraisers to Catapult your Business Forward!

Consider teaming with organizations that use fundraisers to help build your Vemma business. Organizations like:
  • Sports teams
  • School trips
  • Churches
  • Teachers
  • Fraternities
  • Non-profit organizations
use fundraisers to raise money for their organizations. Who do you know who uses fund raisers for their organization or who do you know who knows someone who does. Find out and let them know about your opportunity.

Here are a few steps to consider using:
  1. Use a special product overview call for the fund raising organization. Get your upline leader's help, if necessary.
  2. Give the fast start bonus directly to the organization (for example: for every 1-pack that is ordered, the team will get $10, etc.)
  3. Provide incentives to help motivate the fundraisers by rewarding top 3 earners with gift certificates, etc. An example would be to give a $100 gift certificate to the top seller, $50 to 2nd place, and $25 to 3rd place.
  4. Set an overall sales goal for the organization having the coach, leader, etc. advertise the team goal.
  5. Set a start date and end date for the fund raising period.
  6. Create custom order forms on your computer for the organization to include the key customer information (Name, address, phone #, email, credit card #, expiration, etc.)
  7. When you get the sales, write a check (potentially TAX DEDUCTIBLE!) to the organization.
  8. The cycle bonus $ can be used to reimburse you for the gift certificate purchase for the winners.
  9. Use the customers/members that purchased product as a great source of leads for future business

Residual Passive Income

Residual Income is like the income a Rock Star or Author makes. They are getting paid every time someone buys their CD/book; they worked hard on their product and now they just get paid.

It's the same with Network Marketing - once we start making money in this industry, it keeps coming. People keep taking the products and the checks keep coming even if you are on vacation. I recently found the ideal network marketing opportunity that deals with a highly consumable product called Vemma which I market through VemmaBuilder. VemmaBuilder is an awesome way for you to take a free preview of the Vemma opportunity and build your downline WHILE you are previewing the opportunity, all for FREE!

Once you start getting momentum in your business to where you are making $400-$500 a month, it will continue to come in all the time. To get that kind interest or income from a CD or other investment vehicle, you would have to have $100,000 in the bank.

So, residual income is different to income from a JOB. With a JOB you're always swapping time for money, it never changes. Residual income will always be there once you have worked hard to generate it in the first place, even if you STOPPED working down the road! Would your current employer would keep sending you a paycheck if you stopped going to work? I don't think so...

To make a lot of money, most people need a college education. You don't need a degree to be successful in Network Marketing, but you MUST be committed to your success.

Keep tuning in to this blog and if you are happy with your current network marketing opportunity, speak with your enroller or someone else in your upline who is successful until you find someone who will work closely with you to give you tips on what they did to get where they are today.

Setting up your home office

If you are looking to setup your home office for your network marketing business, here are a few tips:

  • Consider using VOIP for your office phone line as long distance is included and typical monthly charges are lower than an additional phone line (when you consider long distance) and it offers the convenience of accessing your voice mails over the Internet (and having them emailed to you). I use Vonage and they also offer the ability to forward calls to another number and to automatically have your calls forwarded to the phone number of your choice in the event you are offline. One MLM trainer with a popular podcast recommends that you also have a hard-wired land-line in the unlikely event that there is a power outage. I can only remember a couple of occasions over the 2+ years working from home where either my power was out for more than 15 minutes or my internet connection was disrupted so I consider a land line optional. If you have a personal cell phone, us it for "emergency" calls...
  • A computer with an internet connection and email is a must. With a computer you can buy leads over the internet, maintain your business website, send/receive emails, etc. You should also have a printer so you can print labels to affix to your sales aids/samples, write letters, etc. Use your computer to manage your calendar (via Outlook or other similar program) and to manage your leads/contact information.
  • Make sure your office space is dedicated to your business and that you have the discipline to shut out all distractions while you are in your "office".
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for other home office essentials...

Life Changing Secret

I recently picked up the audio CD titled "The Secret" (also available in a book or DVD). I didn't know much about it other than I had read an article recently about the secret.

The Secret is the "law of attraction." This is an amazing discovery and I want to share it with you as I believe that it will bring a new level of awareness to those who consciously practice it. It is bringing me all measures of success and it can do the same for you. It brought a new level of happiness in my life in the realization of The Secret and I would like to share this great discovery with you. Please follow the link at the bottom of the page (I get no advertising $ for this) if you would like to find out more or go to www.thesecret.tv and watch the trailer.

Making Contacts!

I heard a quote recently that was right on the money - "Network marketing is a contact sport". In order to be successful, you have to talk to people in order to get them signed up. Here are a few tips that I have heard from several successful Vemma leaders:

  • BECOME A GOOD LISTENER:
If you ask enough questions, people will tell you what they need! Talk less and Listen MORE! How do you start a conversation? Remember this acronym:

    F O R M - Family, Occupation, Recreation, Motivation

“Do you have a family?” “Where are you from?”…”What do you do?” “What do you like the most about it?”…”What do you like the least about it?” “What do you like to do for FUN?”…all of these questions will tell you what motivates them!!! (and what doesn’t)…
  • Make contacts, set appointments, give a presentation, and FOLLOW-UP! - This involves either calling leads that you obtain through the internet (cold market or by making contact with people you meet or that you know (warm market). Set an appointment with the person for you to make your presentation (or for them to watch the Vemma Scene DVD/presentation, call in to one of the various Vemma Overview calls, etc.). Then, follow-up with them the next day or immediately after the presentation to see what they thought. I heard a good call the other day in the Vemma University section of the Vemma Back Office about Sponsoring Through the Objection - use these techniques.

Anyway, this is just a compilation of a few good tips that I heard recently. And, if you happened to be interested, There is an 18-minute opportunity overview call TONIGHT!:
